Simple Pork Chop Crock Pot Recipe

Hi Everyone! It has been awhile since my last post, I have been busy adjusting to my new life with 3 kids and boy has it been crazy! But we're all hanging in there and having fun! This morning I decided, with the weather being so cold, it is a Crock pot cooking kind of day. Plus, with running around with three crazy boys all day, I needed to do something easy for dinner. My favorite meal to make in the crock pot is BBQ pork chops. It is so tender, yummy, and easy to prepare!

Here is what you need:

1 package of pork chops (you can even use ribs too! So tasty!)
1 cup of baby carrots
1 yellow onion (cut into large chunks)
2 cloves of garlic (minced)
1 can of beer (I use Miller Light or whatever is in my Hubby's fridge ha!)
1/2 cup of Applesauce
Pepper to taste
BBQ Sauce (I use Sweet Baby Rays)

**Add all ingredients except BBQ sauce (you will add that at the last hour) into the crock pot. Cook on low for 8 hours. Pork will turn out so juicy and tender, this will quickly become your favorite meal! I LOVE MY CROCK POT!

What is your favorite crock pot meal?

Shaklee Basic G {Germicide}

Hi Everyone! How was your Thanksgiving? Did you go out to catch any deals for Black Friday??? This year I did not make it out since I just had the baby, but I may see if there are any good deals for Cyber Monday ;)

On to my next post... Lately I've been getting a lot of questions about Shaklee's Basic G {Germicide}, so I figured I would write a post all about it for everyone.

It is the safer alternative to Lysol and Bleach. In fact, it's the safest on the market! Non-flammable, Biodegradable, and non-toxic, cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes in one easy step!

Mix 3/8 tsp with 16 oz water in spray bottle
(use within 30 days of mixing)

Because Basic G is so concentrated, a little goes a long way. Saving you money!

When cleaning with Basic G, the residual effectiveness lasts up to THREE DAYS after application and kills 99% of bacteria! Bleach when used as a disinfectant only lasts one day.

A Few of the Many Uses of Basic G:
  • Toilets
  • Garbage cans
  • Sinks and Faucets
  • Showers and Bathtubs
  • Kitchen countertops and cutting boards (not around food)
  • Refrigerator handles
  • Floors
  • Weed killer (mix 1 tbs. Basic G, 1/2 cup Vinegar to 1 Gallon of water)
  • Can be used as an air freshener
Basic G kills 32 pathogens, while Lysol only kills 8 pathogens.

Basic G {Germacide} is effective against the following pathogens:

Streptococcus pyogenes *Vaccinia
Salmonella choleraesuis *Rubella (German Measles)
Candida albicans *Adenovirus type 4
Acinetobacter calcoaceticus *Feline picornavirus

*Influenza A/Hong Kong 1 ATCC & antibiotic-resistant strain

Cheap, Easy way to make Play-Doh!

Hi Everyone! Hope you all are having a great weekend!

So, in Johnny's pre-school they have a rotation chart set up to where each student makes and brings in play-doh that lasts a good couple of weeks, this week it was his turn. It is cheap and easy! In fact, everyone probably has all or most of the ingredients in their cupboards at home!

Here is a list of the ingredients:

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of salt
  • 4tsp cream of tartar
  • 2 cups of water
  • 2tbs vegetable oil
  • food coloring(color of your choice!)

Spray your large saucepan and a wooden spoon with non-stick cooking spray.  Then, add all of your ingredients to the saucepan and cook over low heat.

Stir continuously.

When all the dough comes together in a ball, remove it from the saucepan. Knead for about 5 minutes until dough is firm and smooth.  Wrap in celophane so it doesn't dry out.

A Little Bit of a Crafty Weekend ;)

Hello Everyone!
How was your weekend? What did you all do? This weekend was very festive for the Vogelman's! First, my best friend and I painted our pregnant bellies as pumpkins and took pictures, then, my Hubby, the kids and I carved pumpkins and baked the seeds! So fun and so tiring! I just wanted to share some pictures of our weekend. Enjoy!

Best friends since 6th grade and pregnant together, love it!

Joey loved getting messy!

Johnny was a little iffy about getting messy, but he's cute anyway haha!

Even Daddy got messy!

The finished product in the light.

And outside on the porch glowing!

What a fun, crafty weekend! Have you carved your pumpkins yet?!

5 Ways to Stay Healthy During Cold/Flu Season

Hello Everyone!

As we are now well into the month of October, the days are getting shorter and the weather is getting colder. This month marks the beginning of "cold and flu season," and lasts all the way until the month of May!

Have you thought about how you will plan to stay healthy this season???

Here are 5 simple ways to help you and your family survive the worst of cold and flu season:

1.) Wash your hands frequently- This is the most effective way to protect yourself from harmful germs. Lather with warm water for 15-20 seconds ;) Lather, rinse, repeat!

2.) Eat and drink plenty of Vitamin C- Keep up with your fruits and veggies. My kids aren't extremely into eating oranges, they don't like the citrus, so I put them on Shaklee's Chewable Vitamin C Tablets. One tablet is equivalent to eating one and a half oranges! They LOVE their vitamin C and get so excited to take them! There is also Vitamin C in the pill form available as well, check them out! Here are some recipes that include foods that are rich in vitamin C!

3.) Stock up on your Immune System Supporting Vitamins!- Don't forget to fill in nutritional gaps with immune supporting nutrients like Zinc and vitamins D, A, C and E. Studies have shown that nearly 20,000 Americans have low vitamin D levels, which increased their risk of catching a cold or the flu. Shaklee offers Nutriferon, this is a powerful formula that works at the cellular level by rapidly activating your immune systems defenses. My Hubby takes this whenever he's feeling a cold coming on and it knocks it out right away! Click here for more immune system supporting products! Also, don't forget to take your multi-vitamin everyday too!

4.) Bring on the garlic- Garlic is nature's little miracle that a lot of people don't know about. It acts as a natural antibiotic and boosts immunity naturally. So make sure to cook with lots of garlic this winter, or click here to learn more about Garlic Complex!

5.) Get enough Zzzz's- Studies show that people who get 7 hours or less of sleep each night made them 3 times more likely to get sick than people who receive 8 or more hours of sleep! CRAZY!

There are so many more ways of staying healthy during sick season, these are just a few of the most important. Visit my website for more information on the amazing selection of vitamins Shaklee has to offer to keep you and your family healthy during the crazy cold and flu season. No one has time to be sick!

Stay Healthy!

34 Weeks with Baby number 3!!!

Hello Everyone! I just wanted to share, I'm 34 weeks pregnant today with baby number 3! I feel like it wasn't too long ago that we found out we were expecting and now the end is VERY near! Since we didn't find out the sex of the baby, we had to go through all of our newborn boxes and find all of our neutral clothes. I didn't realize how much baby clothes we really had! I have washed and put away all clothes and winter blankets so we will be somewhat prepared when baby arrives(Now all we need are pacifiers, diapers, hats... ya know, all the basics!)!

We found out a few Doctor appointments ago that baby will be here November 9th via Csection. It is definitely scary to think about having surgery, but it is also really nice to plan a babysitter for that day for the older 2 and nice for the family members that want to be there to take that day off of work ha!!!

Baby is still very active! It loves to stretch and push It's legs up under my ribs, then punch and kick my sides. Of my three pregnancies, this baby has been the most active! I'm excited to see how active our Sweet Pea is when it arrives! Let's hope we at least get SOME sleep haha! I'm feeling good overall, but definitely get tired more easily, which is to be expected when I'm chasing around 2 crazy boys all day ;)

Next week is an exciting week, we have our maternity pictures! I'm super excited, I've never really had professional pictures done before(never did them with my other 2 pregnancies) so this will be VERY different! I hope Johnny and Joey cooperate in them too haha!

We are so excited to see what this baby looks like, and what it is! November 9th will be here before we know it and we will have 3 kids under the age of 3! We are going to have a crazy house for awhile, but we wouldn't have it any other way!

Crafty Saturday!

Hi Everyone! Well, Fall has officially arrived. Halloween and the holiday season are right around the corner. I've been on a Pinterest kick lately and always seeing these cute little finger paint crafts for kids. I thought it was finally time to try getting a little messy and crafty! I absolutely love the colors, weather, and food of Fall! I saw a cute picture on Pinterest of the Fall tree made out of hand prints, Johnny and I tried it!

We started out but mixing our our brown paint and making the tree trunk.

Then came the fun part for Johnny, getting messy! We painted our colors(red, yellow, and orange) on his hands and he got to go crazy! It turned out so cute!

Then, we dipped Johnny's fingers in our red, yellow and orange paint and dabbed for the "falling leaves" look  :)

This was such a fun project, we can't wait to do more!

Even Mommy got a little crafty!

I love spending one on one time with each of my kids and we are trying to take advantage of the time we have before baby number three gets here!

What are some of your favorite crafts to do???

Quickie Powder Room Remodel for Under $25!!!

How would you like to go from this

To this???

For under $25!!!

You know those times where you feel like you just need a little change in a certain room in your house but don't have a lot of money to play around with? As I was cleaning my Powder Room I noticed the edges of the mirror looked so aged and it made the bathroom look bad. I thought maybe if we bought trim and edged out the mirror it would look SO cute! But then I had another thought... This is our "Sanibel Island, FL" themed bathroom so everything is all about the beach and seashells. We found an unopened can of tan textured spray paint in our storage in the basement and knew that this would be so cute for the border of the mirror. Since brass colored fixtures aren't really in anymore we also decided to do the same thing to the light fixture.

Here are all the supplies we needed for our CHEAP UPDATE ;)

Seriously that is all you need! It was such an easy, fun project!

So, here's the steps I used:

1.) Figure out how wide you want your border around the mirror to be and use your Painters Tape for your template.

2.) Then fill in the blue area with your masking paper. Make sure you cover around the outside edges of the mirror and over the sink so you don't make a huge mess.

3.) Spray away! (FYI being pregnant, I did not do any spray painting, my Mom did that job haha!)

4.) Once you are happy with the way the edges look you can remove the tape and paper.

5.) Repeat the same steps for the light fixture. See the cute seashells we used to cover the brass-colored bolts! (We also flipped the fixture so that the lights face the ceiling instead of right on top of you, it looks so much better this way!)

6.) Enjoy your updated powder room without the guilt of spending too much money!!! Love it!

Talk again soon!!!
